What's your favorite American hop?

Postby seymour » Tue Jun 03, 2014 12:43 pm

That's it: name your favorite type of hop grown in the USA (or North America in general.)

Discuss. Recipes and/or hopping schedules would be even better. As always, rebuttals to other posts are welcome, but don't forget to make your case with some background info of your own.

Up until recently, my two favorites were Cascade and Centennial. I really like the citrus/pine character that the two of them provide.

Lately, however, I've been hooked on Falconer's Flight. I know it is just come combination of the "C" hops, but I really like the proportions they use.

On Tap: Northern Brown Ale, Imperial Oktoberfest, Saison, Kolsch
Fermenting: Saison, IPA

I am a huge fan of Amarillo. I enjoy making beers with only using this hop. It is very versatile and can be used in any number of styles, IPA, Pale Ale, Black IPA, Brown ales, Saison, Belgian PA, American Stout. Currently I have a Rye IPA FWH, late hop and dry hop additions of Amarillo.
